The 2013 promotion felt like destiny. Wilfried Zaha had just guided Crystal Palace from the Championship to the Premier League, and at twenty years old, he looked unstoppable. Sir Alex Ferguson noticed. Manchester United came calling with a £10 million offer, and Zaha became Ferguson's final signing before retirement.

Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha was born on November 10, 1992, in the Ivory Coast. His family moved to England while he was still young. By his teenage years, he had already caught the eye of Crystal Palace's youth academy scouts.

He made his senior debut for Palace in 2010. The Championship side became his testing ground. Over three seasons, Zaha scored 18 goals in 143 appearances and proved he belonged among England's elite.

The Manchester United experiment lasted just one season. Zaha made four appearances and won the Community Shield on his debut, but opportunities dried up fast. A loan spell at Cardiff City followed. By 2014, he was back at Selhurst Park.

What happened next was pure football history. Zaha returned to Crystal Palace and became the club's heartbeat for the next nine seasons. He scored 72 goals in 315 appearances and became their highest ever goalscorer in the Premier League. Every Palace fan knew his number.

His England career had started in 2012 with two non-competitive matches. But international football took a different turn in 2016 when Zaha switched to represent Ivory Coast. He appeared at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2025, flying the flag for his native country.

In 2023, Zaha departed Crystal Palace. His journey then took him to Galatasaray in Turkey's Süper Lig. A loan move to Major League Soccer's Charlotte FC followed, bringing his story to American football.
