About Tiwa Savage

Kele Kele Love became the song that announced Tiwa Savage's arrival in Nigeria's music scene. It was the lead single from her debut album Once Upon a Time, released on July 3, 2013, and it marked the beginning of something extraordinary.

Tiwatope Omolara Savage was born on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko, Lagos. At eleven years old, she relocated to London for her secondary education. The move shaped her musical foundation and exposed her to global sounds that would later define her style.

While still in London, Savage began her music career doing backup vocals for international artists including George Michael and Mary J. Blige. She participated in the UK edition of The X Factor, showcasing her talent to a wider audience. She then graduated from Berklee College of Music, strengthening her craft through formal training.

In 2009, Savage signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The deal provided her with a platform and resources to develop her artistry. But the pull of Nigeria's growing music industry became stronger than any international opportunity.

Savage moved back to Nigeria and signed with Mavin Records in 2012. She appeared on the label's compilation album Solar Plexus that same year. Once Upon a Time arrived in 2013 with seven singles that dominated radio and streaming platforms. "Love Me (3x)", "Without My Heart", "Ife Wa Gbona", "Folarin", "Olorun Mi" and "Eminado" all contributed to the album's success. The album earned nominations for Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and for Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2014.

Her second studio album, R.E.D, arrived on December 19, 2015. "My Darlin" and "Standing Ovation" became standout singles from the project. Savage continued to build her empire across music, film and entertainment.

Today, Tiwa Savage's estimated net worth ranges between $12 million and $15 million. She sings in English, Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba, blending afrobeats, R&B, afropop, pop and hip-hop into a signature sound. Her contributions to Nigerian music have earned her recognition as one of the industry's most consistent and influential artists.
