Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike was born on October 9, 1986. Though a native of Anambra State, he was born and raised in Enugu State. Music found him early.

Phyno started his music career as a producer in 2003 when he was just seventeen years old. For years, he built his craft in the studio while most of his peers were still finding their way. He chose to rap primarily in Igbo, a decision that set him apart in an industry dominated by English-language artists.

His debut studio album, No Guts No Glory, dropped in March 2014. The album was a statement of intent. Singles like "Ghost Mode," "Man of the Year," "Parcel," and "O Set" proved he had arrived. The project announced a rapper who understood his roots and refused to compromise his sound.

The Playmaker followed in 2016 and showed growth. Phyno was no longer the newcomer. He was a craftsman refining his art. Deal With It came in 2019 and pushed him further into the mainstream conversation.

Something to Live For arrived in 2021. The album marked another evolution in his sound and message. Then came Full Time Job in 2024, proving that over two decades into his career, Phyno still had hunger.

What sets Phyno apart is consistency. He has not chased trends or abandoned his identity. His commitment to rapping in Igbo kept him connected to his people while earning him respect across Nigeria. Each album builds on the last rather than starting from scratch.
