Girlie O was still climbing the charts when Patoranking stepped into the studio to record what would become his breakthrough moment.

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie was born on May 27, 1990, in Ebute Metta, a community in Lagos. He grew up in a single room with his parents and five siblings. This modest upbringing instilled in him a drive to create a better future through music.

His music career began with underground collaborations. He worked with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone, learning his craft in Lagos's competitive music scene. These early partnerships shaped his sound and introduced him to industry connections.

In 2010, Patoranking signed a record deal with K-Solo's Igberaga Records. He released "Up in D Club" under the outfit. The single showed promise but did not yet capture the attention of the mainstream audience.

A collaboration with Timaya on "Alubarika" changed everything. The song caught the ear of Dem Mama Records, and Patoranking became a protégé of the label. This partnership proved crucial to his career development.

In February 2014, Patoranking signed with Foston Musik and released "Girlie O". The single put him in the limelight and became his breakthrough moment. Radio stations across Nigeria picked it up immediately.

On February 9, 2015, Patoranking announced on Instagram that he had signed a distribution deal with VP Records. This agreement expanded his reach beyond Nigeria's borders. The partnership opened doors to international markets and audiences.

On September 28, Patoranking released "Abule" ahead of an album scheduled for 2020. The song demonstrated his evolution as an artist. He later revealed that he drew inspiration for songs from unexpected places—even a football pitch while playing the sport he loved.
