Aki na Ukwa changed everything when it hit screens in 2002. Osita Iheme stepped into the role of Pawpaw and became a household name overnight, acting alongside Chinedu Ikedieze in what would become a defining partnership in Nigerian cinema.

Osita Nnamdi Iheme was born on February 20, 1982. He grew up in Nigeria and pursued acting while many of his peers were still deciding on careers.

The success of Aki na Ukwa opened doors across Nollywood. Between 2003 and 2008, he appeared in films like 2 Rats, Baby Police, and Nollywood Babylon. Each role added another layer to his reputation as a versatile performer who could command attention on screen.

His work was recognized early and often. In 2007, Iheme received the Africa Movie Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement. This honour came when many actors were still building their resumes. It spoke to the impact he had made in such a short time.

President Goodluck Jonathan conferred the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) upon him in 2011. This federal honour placed Iheme among Nigeria's distinguished citizens. The recognition reflected his contributions to entertainment and culture.

Iheme's career continued to expand beyond acting. He became a film producer and author, diversifying his creative output. The Mirror Boy in 2011 and Christmas in Miami showed his range as an artist willing to explore different types of stories.

By 2021, Aki and Pawpaw reunited him with Chinedu Ikedieze on screen. Nearly two decades after their first collaboration, audiences still connected with the chemistry between them. The film proved that their partnership remained relevant in an evolving industry.
