Olamide Gbenga Adedeji was born on March 15, 1989. He grew up in Lagos, where the streets became his first classroom and later his greatest inspiration. Music was always the calling that mattered most.

In 2011, he released Rapsodi, his debut studio album under Coded Tunes. The project showed promise, but it was what came next that changed everything. YBNL—Yahoo Boy No Laptop—became the album that launched him into the mainstream and gave him a label imprint to call his own.

YBNL Nation, his record label, became a launching pad for other artists. The album's singles like "First of All," "Voice of the Street," "Stupid Love," and "Ilefo Illuminati" dominated the airwaves. He had found his sound and his audience was listening.

In 2013, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth arrived with its own momentum. "Durosoke" and "Yemi My Lover" became instant classics. That same year, on July 17, he made history by becoming the first Nigerian to sign an endorsement deal with Cîroc—a moment that proved his commercial appeal extended beyond music into the corporate world.

By 2023, Olamide's influence had reached the Grammy stage. His song "Amapiano" earned him his first Grammy nomination at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, with his signee Asake featured alongside him. He became one of the first Nigerian and African rappers to receive recognition in that category.
