Reverend Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, known to many as J.O.Y. Mante, became the 18th Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in August 2018. This appointment made him the chief executive of one of West Africa's most influential religious organisations. For Nigerians familiar with Ghana's theological landscape, his name carries considerable weight.

The theologian was born on November 9, 1957, in Ghana. He would go on to dedicate his life to ecclesiastical leadership and theological education. His journey through the Presbyterian Church spanned decades of service and scholarship.

Before his election as moderator, Mante spent seven years as President of the Trinity Theological Seminary in Legon. The seminary is one of Ghana's premier institutions for training religious leaders. Under his leadership, the institution strengthened its academic programmes and theological rigour.
