The Church of Nigeria found its spiritual leader when Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba ascended to the position of Primate in 2020. His appointment marked a defining moment for the Anglican communion across the nation's many dioceses.

Ndukuba was born on July 18, 1961. He would spend decades climbing the ranks of the Nigerian Anglican church before reaching its highest office.

His ecclesiastical journey took him through the Diocese of Gombe, where he served as Bishop. This posting gave him invaluable experience in pastoral care and diocesan administration across northern Nigeria.

The Anglican Province of Jos became his next major responsibility. As Archbishop of this province, Ndukuba oversaw multiple dioceses and thousands of worshippers across the Middle Belt region.

When the position of Primate opened in 2020, Ndukuba's experience and leadership credentials positioned him well. The Church of Nigeria chose him to guide the Anglican communion through contemporary challenges facing Nigerian Christianity.

As Primate, Ndukuba leads the entire Anglican Church in Nigeria. He oversees dozens of dioceses spread across the country's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

His tenure has focused on strengthening the church's institutional structures. He continues to address pressing issues affecting Nigerian Anglicans, from theological education to community outreach.

Today, Ndukuba remains the highest-ranking Anglican official in Nigeria. His role places him among the most influential religious leaders shaping faith and morality across the nation.
