Folarin Jerry Balogun was born on July 3, 2001. The striker grew up in England but carried Nigerian heritage through his family name. Early on, he showed the kind of talent that attracts attention from top academies.

Arsenal's Hale End academy became his proving ground. Balogun rose through the youth ranks and earned promotion to the first team in 2020. However, regular playing time proved difficult to come by at the Emirates Stadium.
