Marry Me changed everything for Falz when the song featuring Poe and Yemi Alade hit the airwaves. The track gave him the wider recognition he had been building toward since his secondary school days. But his journey to that moment had already begun years before.

Folarin Falana was born on October 27, 1990. While still in secondary school, he formed a group called The School Boys with a friend. Music was not a hobby for him—it was the plan.

He launched his professional music career in 2009. For several years, he worked quietly, building his craft and releasing material that slowly gained traction. The industry was starting to notice the young rapper's potential.

Wazup Guy arrived in 2014 as his debut album. It marked an official statement of arrival. The project showcased his skills as both a rapper and songwriter, establishing him as more than just another voice in the Nigerian music scene.

His second album Stories That Touch came in 2015, continuing to develop his sound and themes. Two years later, he released 27 in 2017. The album demonstrated growth and a deepening artistic vision.

Moral Instruction followed in 2019 as his fourth studio album. By this time, Falz had established himself as a respected figure in Nigerian hip-hop. His work extended beyond music into acting as well, showing versatility across entertainment.

He established his own independent record label, Bahd Guys Records, taking control of his artistic future. The label became a platform for his own releases and other artists he believed in. Falz had moved from being an emerging artist to a force shaping the industry around him.
