Manchester United's biggest moment came in 2015 when Anthony Martial arrived at Old Trafford. The French teenager broke the record for the highest fee ever paid for a player under 21, costing £36 million plus £21.6 million in bonuses. It was a statement of intent from the Premier League giants.

Anthony Jordan Martial was born on December 5, 1995, in France. He started his youth career at Les Ulis before moving through the ranks as a professional. By 2013, he had caught the attention of bigger clubs across Europe.

Monaco signed him in 2013 for €6 million. He spent two seasons developing his craft on the French Riviera. The young forward showed enough promise that Manchester United came calling in 2015.

His debut season in England was spectacular. Martial won the FA Cup in 2015-16 and established himself as one of football's most exciting young talents. Everything seemed set for a glittering career at the Theatre of Dreams.

Martial departed Manchester United in 2024 after nearly a decade at the club. He joined Greek side AEK Athens before moving to Mexican outfit Monterrey in 2025. The French forward had also earned recognition as a youth international for his country, earning caps from under-16 through to under-21 level and making his senior debut in 2015.

In 2015, the Golden Boy Award came his way. At just 19 years old, he was recognised as Europe's best young talent. It was a moment that captured the world's attention and placed him among football's brightest prospects.
