Commissioners of women’s affairs from six geopolitical zones convened in Abuja for a two-day forum aimed at aligning all 36 states with the National WEE policy to bolster access to finance, skills enhancement, and market opportunities for women.

The event was hosted by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in collaboration with the Development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC), and  inaugurated by Barrister Uju Kennedy, Minister of Women’s Affairs.

Minister Kennedy urged concerted efforts at both federal and subnational levels to foster economic growth and alleviate women’s poverty by facilitating access to resources and markets.

Dr. Judith-Ann Walker, Executive Director of dRPC, emphasised the significance of the collaboration with NIPSS and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in driving WEE initiatives over the next four years, targeting subnational implementation.
