PanAfricare, a non-governmental organisation has provided free malaria tests and treatment as well as donated free insecticide treated nets to Mpape community in Bwari Area Council Abuja.

The organisation distributed the nets to pregnant women, nursing mothers,  and children under-five years, to commemorate this year’s World Malaria Day.

Speaking during the exercise yesterday in Abuja, PanAfricare Country Director, Dr Patrick Adah said sleeping under insecticide treated mosquito nets every time helps in protecting people against malaria.

“When people are sick or have fever, they need to be tested to confirm that they have malaria before they can go for treatment,” he said.

He said with sensitisation over the years, more people have become aware about the tools used for malaria control than before.

He added that PanAfricare seeks to implement synergistic activities to improve the health, agriculture, and capacity building of communities in Africa for the benefit of present and future generations.
