Three More Israeli Hostages Expected to Be Released by Hamas On Saturday in Prisoner Exchange

2 weeks ago 19

Three more Israeli hostages are expected to be freed by Hamas on Saturday in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israel, according to Israeli media reports.

The release, anticipated to take place around 10:00 local time (09:00 WAT), will see the return of Eli Sharabi, Ohad ben Ami, and Or Levy. Their freedom comes as part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that began on 19 January.

As Hamas finalises preparations for the handover, families of the hostages in Israel are reportedly getting cakes and champagne ready to celebrate their return.

This exchange is part of the first phase of the ceasefire deal, which includes the release of 33 Israeli hostages. Last week, three Israeli hostages were freed in a similar exchange, alongside over 183 Palestinian prisoners.

The latest release marks another step in ongoing efforts to secure the return of hostages while easing tensions between the two sides.
