Vice-President Kashim Shettina has assured that the federal government would deploy new strategies to fight armed banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges in different parts of the country.

The Vice President stated this after he held a closed door meeting with former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, on Saturday.

This assurance came a day after the Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, appealed to the federal government to deploy more men and resources to support the state in its trying times of incessant banditry attacks.

Shettima said the federal government would deploy all the resources and expertise needed to restore security and lasting peace to the affected areas.
