The Ogun State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, Sunday morning, foiled a robbery incident on the Odogbolu corridor of the Lagos-Benin expressway.
A statement signed by the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (retd.), said during the incident which happened in the early hours of Sunday, one of the suspected armed robbers was gunned down by operatives of the command.
Adedigba added that another suspect, Amechie Okoro, who was arrested during a gun duel with the Corps, led the personnel to their hideouts where another gang member was arrested, who had earlier escaped from the crime scene.
On interrogation, Okoro confessed to have just been released from Ikoyi prison on Monday February 10, 2025, while Micheal Oko said it was the ring leader called Awuha that initiated him into the group.
The Corps Commander said the arrested robbers are members of the armed gang terrorising the Odogbolu Axis of Lagos-Benin expressway.
