A non-partisan advocacy group, the North-West Youths for Peace and Development has lauded the efforts of Armed Forces of Nigeria in eliminating terrorists commanders and its renewed firepower against Turji Bello and his foot soldiers in the region.

Addressing a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, the coordinator of the group, Salihu Bello, urged people in the region  to show appreciation to the Armed Forces of Nigeria led by General Christopher Musa for its relentless efforts to tackle the activities of Bello and other bandits.

The group while appreciating the renewed vigour of the military in taming bandits’ activities,  lamented that the activities of the bandits have turned life upside down in the region, paralysing economic and social life.

According to the group, “While Region are discussing how to advance economically, here we are dealing with Forces of retrogression, people who don’t want our region to advance.

“Unfortunately they are our people. How did we get to this situation? Who are the people directly or indirectly supporting them?

“The North-West Youths for Peace and Development commend the General Chris Musa led Armed Forces of Nigeria for what is been done to restore peace in our region.

“We once more appeal to our people to support the military for us to come out of this quagmire!,” the group added.
