Lawmakers observed a minute of silence in several Knesset committees on Tuesday ahead of the funeral of hostages Shiri, Kfir, and Ariel Bibas.
The Knesset Economic Committee, the Subcommittee on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies, the National Security Committee, and the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee all began their discussions with a pause to honour the murdered woman and her two children.
Both Likud MK Hanoch Milwidsky, acting chairman of the Constitution Committee, and Shas MK Avraham Betzalel, a member of the Economic Committee, recited Psalms in memory of the deceased.
National Security Committee chairman Boaz Bismuth said the entire nation had prayed for the safety of the Bibas family and that “the entire Jewish people is accompanying the Bibas family today, a family that has become a part of us.”
Sessions of the Knesset Education, Culture and Sports Committee, the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, the Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Committee, and the State Control Committee were postponed in light of the tragedy.
