BIRNIN-KEBBI – A Kebbi state lawmaker, Honourable Maisudan, on Friday played host to Kebbi firyst Lady, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, on his invitation to perform the empowerment of 800 of his constituents.
Hon. Maisudan warmly welcomed the Kebbi State First Lady and her team, as well as the residents of Suru Local Government, who honoured his invitation to witness this momentous occasion.
In her remarks, the First Lady and Wife of the Governor Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu , commended the efforts of the Honourable Member for empowering his constituents with farming inputs and other materials saying that, the event serves as a testament to the collective efforts of the State Government and Hon Members dedication to empowering their people and enhancing their socio-economic well-being.
Also speaking, the Speaker kebbi state House of Assembly Rt Hon Usman Muhammad Ankwe represented by Dr Sulaiman Abubakar Fana of Dandi Constituency while commending him for his passion in helping his constituents assured the continuous support of the House towards bringing dividends of democracy to the people of their Constituency.
In his remarks, the Organiser of the event Hon Faruku Abubakar Maisudan said , the empowerment initiative was aimed at fostering self-reliance and economic independence among the 800 beneficiaries.
He expressed his gratitude to Allah and conveyed his sincere thanks to Her Excellency for her kind gesture toward the people of Suru Local Government.
He emphasized that this initiative would go a long way in alleviating the economic challenges faced by his constituents.
However,a total of one hundred and fifty farmers were given pumping machines and one hundred others also got bags of fertilisers, seven students from tertiary institutions were given scholarship by the law maker among other humanitarian gestures.
The Kebbi first Lady, on her part gave twenty thousand each to three hundred petty traders in Suru as empowerment to boost their means of livelihood.
All these were designed to complement the efforts of Gov Nasir Idris in reducing poverty in the society, improve their standard of living and prepare them for the holy month of Ramadan which is fast approaching.
The Suru Local Government Council Chairman Muhammad Lawal Suru thanked her excellency and her entourage for putting smiles on the faces of the people of the State.
During the occasion Lamidon Dakingari bestowed the title of INNA WURON of Suru LG. In addition Suru LG Progressives Union appointed her as INNA DUROBE for her contribution to the wellbeing of Herdsmen and her unparalleled achievements towards girls child education.
Highlights of the occasion were commissioning of Solar Powered Borehole at Nasara Area of Dakingari, commissioning of a block of classrooms at A Kigo Model Primary School Dakingari and distribution of books and school bags performed by Her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu.
The occasion was well attended by important personalities from Suru Local Government and beyond which includes Council Chairman Hon. Muhammed Lawal Suru, Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue Generation Alh Muhammad Arzika Danatto Dakingari, SUBEB Board Member Alh Umar Maigandi, Chairman Assembly Commision Hon Umar Altine Danfari, Honorable Members of Dandi Dr Sulaima Fana, Gwandu Engr Atiku Kurya, Bunza Hon Yusuf Tilli, Commissioner for Education, Dr Halima Bande, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government Haj Aisha Maikurata, wives of the Local Government Chairmen and State Assembly members amongst others.
