Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

According to journalist Alejandro Gomez from Record Mexico, Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on signing the 23-year-old striker at the end of the season.

Gimenez has been outstanding for Feyenoord since last season and he helped them win the title as well. He has carried his impressive form into this season as well, scoring 24 goals and picking up six assists in all competitions.

The Mexican could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done.

It is no secret that they will need to bring in a reliable finisher this summer. Gabriel Jesus has found the back of the net just four times in the league this season and Arsenal need to bring in an upgrade.

The Mexican striker will be tempted to move to the Premier League if the opportunity presents itself, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can secure an agreement as well.

Santiago Gimenez is a man in demand

Juventus and Atletico Madrid Madrid are keen on signing the striker as well, but Arsenal certainly have the financial resources to beat them to his signature. The report further states that Real Madrid and Barcelona are keeping tabs on his situation as well.

A move to the Premier League will be an exciting opportunity for the striker and he will look to prove himself against world class defenders in England. He will also hope to compete for major trophies with Arsenal in the coming seasons. The transfer would be an exciting step up for him and it could help him improve further.

Gimenez is still only 23 and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Even if Arsenal will have to pay a premium for him now, the striker could justify the investment in the near future.
