EPL: Xhaka speaks on Arsenal winning title after 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka has said Arsenal can still win the Premier League title this season, despite a 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa.

The Gunners missed the chance to go back on top of the table and are now two points behind champions Manchester City.

Xhaka was part of Mikel Arteta’s squad that failed to win the league last year, despite leading the way for over 200 days.

He told Oma Sports: “They lost 2-0 to Aston Villa, but still very close to everything.

“They know I’m still in contact with many teammates with the club.

“I wish them luck, and hopefully they can do it this year because last year was very close. Hopefully they can do it this year.”
