We’ll continue to support defence of Israel – US

The United States said on Monday it will continue to support
Israel to prevent any escalation in hostilities with Iran.

The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said Israel
wouldn’t have to defend itself alone against Iran’s oppression.

He disclosed this at the start of a meeting with Iraq’s
Deputy Prime Minister, Mohammed Ali Tamim.

Blinken, who called Iran’s actions unprecedented, said: “We
don’t seek escalation, but we’ll continue to support the defence of Israel and
to protect our personnel in the region.

“What this weekend demonstrated is that Israel did not have
to and does not have to defend itself alone when it is the victim of
aggression, the victim of an attack.”
