Benjamin Onigbinde, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sigvent Industrial Cluster Limited, has said the plan of the company is to build the largest industrial cluster in Africa in Ogbomoso.
Onigbinde stated this while receiving Mrs. Bolanle Emmanuel, the Oyo State Coordinator of Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), at the Sigvent Industrial Cluster project office in Ogbomoso.
He said the visit was part of efforts to strategise on development of a value addition sustainable clustering model around key competitive agriculture products like Cashew, Cassava, Soya and Mango.
“We received the Oyo State Coordinator of NEPC at the Sigvent Industrial Cluster project office in Ogbomoso. We had a strategic session on development of a value-added sustainable clustering model around key competitive agriculture products like Cashew, Cassava, Soya and Mango.
“We later moved to the project site along Ogbomoso-Ilorin Road and spent a good time inspecting facilities at the adjacent Nigeria Associate Best Foods, one of best cassava processing plants in the country.”
According to Onigbinde, it is very important to have a strategic collaboration with Nigeria Export Promotion Council in order to achieve the clusters goal and Fast Tracking Value Addition in Agriculture exports and trading, stressing that the mission of the company is to build the largest Industrial Cluster in Africa connecting 50 enterprises and associate institutions across industry in addition to a Free Trade Zone
In her response, Mrs. Emmanuel expressed the need for a standard Cashew Processing factory in Ogbomoso.
She also observed the need to promote manufacturing of mango juice of Ogbomoso special species, adding that her organisation will be available to support the success of the project.
