Tinubu approved 30% contract sum for Sokoto-Badagry highway project – Umahi

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is passionate about the actualisation of the Sokoto – Badagry Super Highway with large portion of the project traversing through Kebbi state.

Umahi made the remark during an inspection visit to the project site at Janzomo village, near Birnin Kebbi, where work is ongoing.

The minister was in company of Governor Nasir Idris, the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of State for Works, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, the permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Works, Mr. Funsho Adebiyi, the speaker, Kebbi state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru and former Kebbi governor, Sa’idu Dakingari.

“Kebbi state has the longest stretch of the project, totaling 258 kilometres. President Tinubu is committed to the completion of job as his Legacy Project.

“The president has approved 30% contract fees, he has love for the people of Kebbi, the state is the heart of the Northwest. 

“The project is moving smoothly, the contracting firm, HITECH, has the ability, capability and capacity to deliver and the company has the right modern equipment on ground, second to none in West Africa, to execute the whole length of the 1,068 kilometres Sokoto – Badagry Super Highway.

“I am also thanking Governor Idris for his commitment to the realisation of the project. Kaura has love for President Tinubu, work would be completed within the time frame,” the minister assured.
