Teacher jailed for using sex toys on student, 13, who she called

A female teacher has been jailed after reportedly using “sex toys” on one of her underage students.

Lindsey Rose Schneeberger, 25, was sentenced to 12 years after pleading guilty to first-degree criminal sexual conduct last month with a female school child who she instructed at Pine Island Schools, Minnesota.

A court heard how the student, 14, who was reportedly 13-years-old at the time of the abuse, was able to identify several “sexual items” found at Schneeberger’s home which were thought to have been used during their alleged sexual relationship.

In a sentencing hearing in Olmsted District Court on April 1, the student told the judge: “I now go to school and deal with the certainty that people look at me differently.”

Schneeberger is set to serve time at Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee.

Schneeberger was arrested in May 2023 after the victim’s mother reported her daughter had been sexually assaulted by the former teacher. Court reports reveal the mother discovered vile texts the student received from Schneeberger that used the words “babe” and “baby”.

The criminal complaint alleged the incidents occurred between April and May 2023 at Schneeberger’s Rochester home. At the time of her arrest, Schneeberger, who resigned from her post in March 2023, was listed as a middle school physical education instructor and 7th-grade volleyball coach.

It is alleged the victim’s mother initially knew about her daughter spending time at the former teacher’s home.

Schneeberger said in court: “Every day I wake up feeling ashamed of what I’ve done.”

The former teacher’s attorney reportedly filed a motion asking for a probation sentence after this show of remorse, and requested no additional prison time. However, the underage victim read a statement to the court asking they give Schneeberger what she called a “proper sentence”.

The judge Kevin Chase was reportedly moved by the student’s statement and handed the teacher a prison sentence of 12 years.
