Tantita, NSCDC Strengthen Partnership In Fight Against Oil Theft

WARRI – Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSNL) and top hierarchy of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has moved to strengthen partnership in the crusade against oil theft.

Dr. Ahmed A. Audi, Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) led other senior officers of the Corps to visit the operational headquarters of Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSNL) in Effurun near Warri yesterday as part of efforts to deepen partnership with the private security outfit.

Receiving the Commandant-General, High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, (TSSNL) reeled out the private security firm’s achievements for the significant improvement in crude oil production and the restoration of aquatic life in Niger Delta region.

High Chief Pondi said that Tantita, in collaboration with other government security agencies have succeeded significantly in curbing oil theft, created job opportunities to hundreds of able bodied youths in the region, brought down environmental degradation and drastically reduced the rate of related crimes in the Niger Delta region.

According to High Chief Pondi, “as of today, we have surpassed two million barrels per day(mbpd) in crude oil production. Our waters are now very clean and our people can fish again.

“Before now, if you throw a bait into the river, you would hardly see any fish eating it. But today, thanks to Tantita Security Services, the fishes are back.”

The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL)commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for providing a level playing field for private security firms to assist in the fight against oil theft.

He spoke further, “when you give someone a job, another thing is to ensure fairness as well as encourage the person to succeed. We must appreciate the government for allowing us to operate effectively.

“Our collaboration with the NSCDC and other security agencies has drastically reduced the rate of kidnapping, piracy, oil bunkering and other related crimes in the Niger Delta region.”

Dr. Audi, Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said he was at Tantita’s headquarters as part of his operational tour of Niger Delta region, he acknowledged the company’s contributions to securing oil facilities in the area

According to the Commandant General, “I am on a tour to assess security operations in the region and I must commend Tantita for its efforts.

“You are not the only ones securing pipelines, but you are doing well, particularly in terms of collaboration, effective policing of Critical National Assets (CNA) and welfare. That is why we have maintained a strong collaboration.

“We will continue to work together because our ultimate goal is the same, ensuring safety and security in the oil sector.”
