The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has cautioned intending pilgrims planning to perform Hajj against falling victims to fake travel companies in this this year’s 1445 Hijri/2024 AD exercise.

A source from the Ministry, who disclosed this, stressed that anyone wishing to perform Hajj must obtain a valid Hajj visa issued by Saudi Arabian authorities in coordination with Hajj authorities in their countries or via the “Nusuk Hajj” platform for nations without such offices.

The source said that the Ministry was closely monitoring advertisements and campaigns from fake social media accounts promising cheap Hajj trips. It, therefore, urged people to be cautious and not embrace such offers.

The Ministry commended the efforts of the Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah in Iraq in arresting over 25 fraudulent companies promoting commercial Hajj tours. They also appreciated the collaboration of all countries in combating the fraudulent pracitces.

According to the Ministry, it was important to note that visas for Umrah, tourism, work, family visit, and transit do not allow one to perform Hajj. It, therefore, advised everyone to follow the regulations set by official authorities and avoid dealing with fake companies offering Hajj packages.

The Ministry added that it will continue to monitor such companies and fake campaigns, urging the public to report them.

The Ministry encouraged the public to seek official information from the Ministry’s website and official social media channels.
