The minority caucus in the House of Representatives has called on the federal government to consider a living wage for Nigerian workers, calling for swift implementation akin to the speed observed in raising taxes or tariffs on the populace.

Minority leader of the house, Kingsley Chinda, said this in a statement on the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day celebration.

In the statement, the caucus emphasised the cessation of worker exploitation and the promotion of equal opportunities for all. They further urged the government to prioritise policies fostering decent work, social protection, and equitable labour standards.
