No fewer than 4, 387 women constituents of Darazo/Ganjuwa were yesterday given N50 million grant to enhance their livelihood in the federal constituency of Bauchi State.

The member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Mansur Manu Soro while presenting the cheque for the amount, said that the gesture was to uplift women entrepreneurs, promote economic growth and enhance livelihoods.

Hon Soro explained that the disbursement of the money would drop in the bank account of each beneficiary, stating that some will each get N20,000 but majority will each take home the sum of N10,000.

The lawmaker recalled that he built four health centres and two schools in two of state constituencies under the Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency during his first term in the House, in addition to a primary school at a Bauchi/Yobe border town with a provision of free food to pupils during school days.

He also assured of the provision of a supervisory measure to ensure proper utilisation of the fund with a view to multiplying them into thousand folds within a short period.

Hon Soro expressed confidence that the empowerment fund would help women to realise their full potential, contribute to the local economy and create a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Soro also opined that with continued guidance and support, the empowerment would open a new chapter of opportunity and prosperity for women entrepreneurs across the constituency, as it will serve as a catalyst for positive change and sustainable development in the communities for generations to come.
