Prof. Rakson emerges VC, Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru

The Governing Board of the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, has approved the appointment of Prof Ibrahim Rakson Muhammad as the Vice Chancellor of the university for a five-year tenure.  Briefing newsmen at the university in Zuru, the Council Secretary and Registrar, Abdulaziz Yusuf Bazata, stated that the Governing Board conducted interviews for the vacant position, and based on the results, Prof. Ibrahim Rakson Muhammad emerged as the Vice Chancellor.

He noted that Ibrahim, a Professor of Animal Science, has over 30 years of academic experience and has been part of the university system for more than three decades. Before his appointment, he served as the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture at the university.

Born on June 20, 1964, Prof. Muhammad hails from Zuru in Kebbi State. He started his career as an Assistant Research Fellow in 1989 and rose to become a professor in 2009. He was head of Department of Animal Science BUK, Post-graduate coordinator department of Animal Science 2006/2007, Dean College of Agriculture FUAZ 2022. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Adm) FUAZ. He is a member, Nigerian Society for Animal Production, Member Nigerian Agricultural Society, member Nigerian Institute of Animal Science. He is married with children.

In another development, the university has also appointed Mr. Abdulrasheed Atanda Ahmed as the University Bursar.

According to Bazata, Mr. Abdulrasheed Atanda previously served as the Deputy Bursar at the University of Ilorin and has over 30 years of experience in accounting.

He emphasised the company’s commitment to safety as a core part of its corporate culture, stressing that the achievement showcases the effectiveness of Falcon’s safety protocols and training programmes.
