Police Launch Manhunt For Kidnappers Of 2 Worshippers In Ogun

Policemen have been mobilised to go after gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, who invaded a white garment church located in Mowe township in the Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State, and abducted two worshipers on Thursday.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development via a terse statement issued on Friday afternoon in Abeokuta, the state capital.

According to Odutola, the gunmen stormed the Celestial Church located near Oriyarin village, in the Mowe-Ibafo axis of the State from where they abducted the two victims identified as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola and escaped through a thick forest behind the church.

The statement issued by the PPRO read: “Report at my disposal reveals that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial Church around Oriyarin village, Mowe, and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and one Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church.

“The Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has been briefed, and he has ordered immediate mobilisation of security personnel to go after the hoodlums.”
