Police arrest man for vandalism in Enugu, recover armored cables and suspects operational tools

Men of the Enugu State Police Command in Trans-Ekulu Division, on April 12, 2024, arrested one Obieze Chigozie “m” aged 23, at Damijah Flyover for vandalism. 

A statement released by the command says the suspect and his accomplices who are currently at large were alleged to have vandalized an electric power transformer in an estate at Damijah Flyover, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu. 

Yet-to-be-ascertained lengths and sizes of armoured cables and a big cutting tool the suspect and others at large used in vandalizing the transformer were recovered.

Confirming the arrest, the command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said a preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect confessed to having been previously involved in the act of vandalism, with others at large. He will be arraigned and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
