PHOTOS: Black marketers take advantage of fuel queues in Abuja

Published

on

Many filling stations were closed in Abuja as the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, caused heavy queues at the few outlets that were dispensing the product on Thursday.

Many commuters have been left stranded at various bus stops due to the scarcity of PMS required by transporters to run their vehicles.

This led to a hike in transport fares as the few transporters who had petrol have raised their rates.

Fuel hawkers took advantage of the situation to return to business. Daily Trust’s Onyekachukwu Obi, who went round Abuja to monitor the situation, witnessed 10 litres of fuel being sold at N9,200 by black marketers.
