Peseiro performed beyond expectations – Ladipo suggests who should become new Super Eagles coach

The President General, Nigeria Football Supporters Club, NFSC, Rafiu Ladipo, has insisted that Jose Peseiro performed beyond expectations as Super Eagles coach despite not being given the chance at all.

He also suggested to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to appoint another coach better than Peseiro and not anyone that is not up to his standard for the Super Eagles job.

Peseiro, who led Nigeria to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final in Ivory Coast, had, in a farewell message on his official X handle on Friday, appreciated the NFF and other stakeholders in Nigeria football for the opportunity given to him to serve as coach of the Super Eagles.

Speaking on the development, Ladipo told NAN:

”Now, we need to start looking for another coach better than [Jose] Peseiro and not anyone that’s not up to his standard.

”Whether we like it or not, he took us to the finals of the 2023 AFCON.

”Peseiro wasn’t given a chance at all, but he performed beyond the expectations and the target of semi-final berth, up to the final against the host nation, Ivory Coast.”
