Osimhen eyes 10th Europa League goal

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will be targeting his 10 Europa League goal when Galatasaray faces AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 playoffs.

Osimhen has already scored nine goals in 14 Europa League appearances, with five coming in this season’s six matches for Galatasaray. The prolific forward is expected to be in the starting lineup for the Turkish giants.

Galatasaray began their Europa League campaign on a strong note but dropped into the playoff zone after two draws and a defeat in their final group-stage match, finishing 14th in the standings. Meanwhile, AZ Alkmaar secured their spot in the playoffs with a 19th-place finish.

Osimhen has been in sensational form since joining Galatasaray on loan from Italian side Napoli. He has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season.
