North-central youth seek inclusion in NCDC board

The North Central Development Commission (NCDC), created by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has attracted the appreciation of the youth drawn from the zone.

The youth who described the Commission as a welcome development, however, advocated for their inclusion as members in the board.

According to the youth, their demand is hinged on fairness, equity, sense of belonging and youth impact in the scheme of things in the region and Nigeria as a nation.

Speaking while they gathered at the National Assembly gate February 20, 2025, one of the speakers, Audu Tersoo commended the appointment of Hon. Salihu Musa Ovaku, a former chairman of the North Central Youths Advocacy for Development (NCYAD).

He said the appointment of Hon Ovaku represents the voice of the well-meaning people of the region, for youth inclusiveness, hoping that Mr President would apply democratic approach in the composition of the board membership. 

Also a woman leader from Plateau state, Faithful Daor, said “the women waiting to see Hon. Ovaku represent our aspirations well,” recalling the six-year struggle that finally led to the appointment of Hon Ovaku.
