Men of the Ogun state police command has appealed to members of the general public whose relatives are missing to approach the command in Abeokuta, the state capital with their photographs for possible identification by a prime suspect responsible for cases of missing persons within the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu made the call in Abeokuta while parading three suspects who have confessed to have been responsible for about Ten missing individuals in the state.

“I am glad to once again welcome you to yet another press briefing in a couple of three weeks to update you on the latest development on the investigation into the killing of one Suleimon Adijat who was initially reported missing at Onipanu Division, Ogun State.

It is heartwarming to inform you and the general public of the arrest of the main actor in the episode one Adebayo Olamide Azeez and another principal suspect one Maria Awuraji,on the 23rd of February, one Adebayo Olamide Azeez ’ who was earlier at large was arrested through credible information on his criminal hideout.

The suspect made a startling revelation of their serial killings of mainly female victims whose main source is through hook-up platform “mychat” on the social media. he confessed to have lured seven victims from September, 2023 to 11th January, 2024 among whom was Sulaimon Adijat who triggered the investigation.

Speaking further, the police boss said;

“Sequel to the press briefing held on 15th February, 2024 where 10 female bags recovered from the shrine of one of the previously arrested suspects , Moses Abidemi Aruwaji were showcased, a relative of one of the deceased on 23rd February, 2024 came to the State Criminal Investigation Department after watching the press briefing on the television to identify a bag belonging to her sister, one Olanrewaju Sarah Abosede who has been missing.

The suspect identified the owner as among those they murdered.

The suspect Adebayo Olamide Azeez confessed and gave vivid details of how he conspired with one Moses Abidemi Awuraji and Maria Awuraji wife of Abidemi Moses to kill one Sulaimon Adjat and Olanrewaju Sarah Abosede at the house of Moses Abidemi Awuraji at Igbo Olomi Atan, Ogun State.

The suspects strangulated their victim to death and dismembered their body parts and sold to Oluwo Monday Samuel and Alfa Ariwo ,who is still at large for ritual purposes.”

CP Alamutu disclosed that the three suspects confessed to the killing of ten different ladies at the Igbo Olomi residence of Moses Abidemi. However, Mariam Aruwaji was arrested with one blue Tecno Camon phone belonging to the late Olanwaju Sarah Abosede

“In conclusion, the command is using this avenue to advise our youths at this umpteenth time to desist from untoward behavious, they are advised to use the social media and attendant technology positively,” he stated.

 

“It is through the social media platform that all the victims were lured to their untimely death.

 

“The Command is working assiduously to unravel the identity of other victims; therefore, any family who has its relative missing is advised to come forward with the missing person photograph to the State Criminal Department, State CID Eleweran, Ogun State.

The suspects have assured the police that they will recognize the victims they have killed if the photograph is seen,” the police imagemaker said.
