NSE to partner with Enugu government for more infrastructure development

1 week ago 22

The Nigeria Society of Engineers, (NSE), Enugu state chapter, has expressed satisfaction after appraising the infrastructure development projects embarked upon by Governor Peter Mbah-led administration in Enugu state.

The newly elected executive of the society, Engr. Pius Chukwunta, said this when they paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Uche Ugwu.

“We visited some gigantic projects embarked upon by the government and we are happy,” he said.

Chukwunta said they were at the House of Assembly to felicitate with the Speaker who is also an engineer.

He praised Ugwu for the competence with which he had  handled the affairs of the assembly and their relationship with the executive that had made it possible for the delivery of the infrastructure projects.

He indicated the willingness of the NSE to partner with the government with a view of getting it to do more.

“We identify with you. As a matter of fact, we have toured round some projects executed by the state government and we are satisfied.  We are happy with the governor and you the speaker.

“The able way you are handling the house, we are not surprised.  We are ready to collaborate with you to ensure that you do more,” Chukwunta said.

He, however, used the opportunity to invite the Speaker to be a special guest at the forthcoming inauguration on February 22, 2025.

Replying, Hon. Ugwu expressed joy that his fellow engineers deemed it necessary to remember him and pay him a visit as their own and promised to honour their invitation to come to their inauguration.
