President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that his administration is committed to ensuring that education is made accessible to all Nigerians through strategic funding and pragmatic policies.
Tinubu made this known during the ninth convocation ceremonies of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) where 8,444 students bagged various degrees.

The president, who explained that quality education is critical to ensuring national and economic growth, said his administration through the Renewed Hope Agenda would continue to fund and initiate policies that would improve the nation’s education sector.
Tinubu said the introduction of the student loan scheme which he said over 300,000 have benefited from, was part of the numerous measures by the administration to make education affordable for citizens especially the downtrodden.
Tinubu said, ” The Federal Government understands the importance of quality education and it is committed to ensuring that education is made accessible to all Nigerians through strategic funding and pragmatic policies.
“My administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening the education foundation for the benefits of all.”
He added that the Federal Government is aware of the important role of tertiary institutions in the development of any nation, hence its decision to remove them from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) towards granting them more autonomy in deciding their operations.
While commending the management of FUOYE for maintaining interrupted academic activities over the years, he advised tertiary institutions to remain committed to their core mandates of learning, research and community service in the interest of the country.
