What does MOL Tech Accessories do?
MOL Tech Accessories is a wholly Nigerian mobile phone accessories manufacturing company that is into the manufacture and distribution of phone accessories such as chargers, cables, power banks, air pods and headsets and others.
How long has the company been in operation?
The brand has been in the Nigerian market for about two years and has presence in 30 states of the federation, including Lagos where the products were showcased at the popular Computer Village recently.
Can you speak about the quality of the products relative to products in the market?
The quality of our products is very high, particularly when it comes to our audio, anything sounds, people already know and reckon with us. We try to maintain quality control to ensure that we give the best quality at all times, so our quality assurance process is massive.
We have up to 18 levels of quality assurance process, starting from China; we check the drop test, the voltage regulator; we also do a lot of IC tests. Even when the products arrive here, we still pick the boxes randomly and check before we start selling to be sure that everything is good.
We go to China every six months, so it is an interesting journey for me and it is like giving back to Nigeria from the experience we have garnered.
What are projections for growth?
The company has a five-year target, which is to be among the top five in the industry.
What has been the reaction of Nigerians to the products of the company?
The reception in the markets where the products have been on sale showed that Nigerian people have passion for quality, durable and long-lasting products; the qualities which ‘MOL JAMBOX possesses are very high. The products come at good prices. Whether you are passionate about tech, entertainment, or innovation, MOL JAMBOX offers something for everyone.
What do you want to say to other Nigerian entrepreneurs?
I want to appeal to other indigenous entrepreneurs to venture into a business like this so that we can be happy that we are patronizing our own brands in the country.
What challenges does the company face?
In life, nothing is 100 percent assured and that is why it is called life and the challenges are what make us better. The feedback is what makes us improve our products. There are challenges in the areas of funding and others; sometimes you introduce a new product and you soon find out that a new technology has overtaken it and you have to go to the drawing board and develop what can make people better versions of themselves. We take them as lessons to improve the quality of our products.
When are you going to establish a factory in Nigeria?
Our target is to establish a factory in Nigeria in 2027 and the plans are in top gear to achieve that; we also want other brands like us to do the same so that we can take Nigeria to the world. We need to make the country a manufacturing hub.
Explain what you in the Campus Ambassador Programme?
We visit some higher institutions in the country and teach students what entrepreneurship is about and when they finish we accommodate some of them until they find something they want to do.
What is your advice to Nigerian youths?
My advice to Nigerian youth is that they should identify the problems in the areas and think in a creative way how they can find a solution to them. They should serve the people because service to the people is very important. Wherever you find yourself, there is usually a problem, find a solution to that problem and you will be fine. Do not think that you are too little or that you cannot do it; just do it.
