Sad news has emerged that ex-Nigerian Senator, Ayogu Eze from Enugu State has passed away.

The distinguished senator, born in 1958, had reached the age of 66 and his untimely demise is a great loss to his constituents and the political landscape.

The Senator represented Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Senator Eze died after battling a prolonged illness, he tragically succumbed to his condition at an Abuja hospital.

This news has left a void in the hearts of many who admired his dedication and contributions to the political arena.

According to the source, the late Senator has been down, a situation that made him unable to attend his child’s wedding ceremony held earlier in the year in Lagos State.

He was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before he defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, where he ran for Enugu State governorship election.

In the Senate, he was appointed chairman of the senate committee on Information and Media, making him the official spokesman of the senate in 2007.

After his reelection to the senate in 2011, he was appointed chairman of the committee on works.

In addition to his role as a former Senate spokesman, Senator Ayogu Eze made significant contributions as a member of various committees.

He served on committees that focused on important areas such as Police Affairs, National Planning, Marine Transport, and Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs.

His involvement in these committees showcased his commitment to addressing crucial issues and working towards the betterment of the nation.

In May last year, the Senate confirmed the appointment of Eze and five others as Federal Commissioners for Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC.
