NHEA: Nominations Open For 11th Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award

Lagos – The Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) has officially announced the opening of nominations for its 11th edition.

For over a decade, NHEA has remained the premier platform for recognising and celebrating excellence, innovation, and dedication within Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

The 2025 edition continues this tradition by honouring outstanding individuals, institutions, and organisations that have made significant contributions to healthcare delivery, according to a statement signed by Moses Braimah, Director, Marketing, Communication & Strategy.

Dr. Wale Alabi, Project Director, NHEA said, “For over a decade, NHEA has set the standard for healthcare excellence in Nigeria. This year’s theme highlights the power of partnerships in strengthening health systems. We invite the public to nominate outstanding contributors and join us in recognising healthcare champions.”

The theme of this year’s award is “Collaborating for Impact: Strengthening Health Systems through the SWAp Approach,” Alabi said, highlights the need for multi-sectoral collaborations among others in improving the country’s healthcare.

The statement partly reads, “This year’s theme underscores the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships and coordinated efforts in driving sustainable healthcare improvements. It highlights the collective role of stakeholders across both public and private sectors in strengthening Nigeria’s health system.

“Nominations are now open and can be submitted online via the Nigeria Healthcare Excellence Awards website.

The nomination period closes at midnight on May 2, 2025. The public is encouraged to participate by nominating deserving individuals and organisations across various award categories.”

Award Categories

NHEA 2025 will feature four major award categories with over 30 subcategories, covering various aspects of the healthcare industry, including Special Recognition Awards, Healthcare Delivery Services, Biomedical Technology & Innovation, Pharmaceutical Excellence, and Health Tech.

A new Health Tech category has been introduced to further recognize excellence in healthcare facilities across Nigeria in collaboration with Digital Health Nigeria (DHN). They are: NHEA-DHN Award for Excellence in Health Tech and NHEA-DHN Emerging Health Tech Startup of the Year.

Moses Braimah, NHEA Director of Marketing, Communication, and Strategy, expressed enthusiasm about this year’s event, stating, “As we launch NHEA 2025, we are excited to spotlight the remarkable achievements transforming Nigeria’s healthcare sector. With growing investment and innovation, this platform continues to honor those driving excellence. We encourage all stakeholders to submit nominations and celebrate industry leaders.”

The event will take place on Friday, June 27, 2025, at The Convention Centre, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria

NHEA is organized by the Global Health Project and Resources (GHPR) in collaboration with Anadach Group, USA. The award enjoys the support and endorsement of major healthcare organisations, including, the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN), the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), and PharmAccess Foundation.
