NGO provides free medical outreach for people in Zangon Kataf

A non-government organisation, SKaid, has rolled out free medical outreach for thousands of people in Samaru community of Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state. 

Speaking during the outreach, the Executive Director SKaid Mr. Bello Bisalla said the medical exercise is a way of advancing social welfare, to bridge the gaps of catering for the needs of the community members and to compliment the work of the government.

He reiterated the NGO’s commitment to continue its drive towards impacting the society through strategic interventions that prioritise preventive care and access to treatment and community health education.

He added adding that the NGO believes that every individual deserves access to essential healthcare services regardless of their socio-economic status.

He  added that the NGO targets building healthier communities in Southern Kaduna, and commended the Southern Kaduna stakeholders who have contributed to the initiative geared towards ensuring general medical checkups, eye care and glasses distribution, maternal/child health services, laboratory testing, free medication and prescription, health education and counseling. 

Speaking on behalf of the team of doctors, Dr. Silas Amos Bakut, said the programme is giving the people the opportunity to access medical checkups at no extra cost.

The executive chairman of Zangon Kataf local government area, Joseph Bege Gaiya, thanked the founder of the organisation, Rear Admiral Ferguson Dukas Bobai (rtd), who dedicated his life  to serving the people in various ways.
