New Ambassadors Pledge To Strengthen Cooperation Between ECOWAS, Their Countries

ABUJA – Eight new Ambassadors have presented their letters of accreditation to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, HE Dr Omar Alieu Touray, at the institution’s headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria with a pledge of deepen further cooperation between their countries and ECOWAS.

They are the ambassadors of the European Union delegation, Gautier Mignot, of France, Marc Fonbaustier of Finland, Mrs. Sanna Selin, of Equatorial Guinea, Francisco Edu Ngua Mangue, of South Korea, Pankyu KIM and of Algeria, Hocine Mezoued.

A statement on Tuesday said the High Commissioner of Sierra Leone, Dr Julius Sandy, and the Permanent Representative of the Holy See, Archbishop Michael Crotty, also presented their credentials to the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

On receiving their credentials, Dr Touray congratulated them on their appointment and assured them of his support in the success of their mission.

He reviewed with them the state of the relationship between their respective countries and ECOWAS, and the prospects for strengthening them in favour of West African economic integration.
