Months ago, Shaibu prayed for Omobayo Godwins to be higher than him
An old video where Philip Shaibu, former deputy governor of
Edo, said a prayer for Omobayo Godwins, his successor, is making the rounds on
the internet.
In the clip, Shaibu can be seen praying for Godwins at an
event.
“From strength to strength and from glory to glory. And
because I’m older than him, he’s supposed to be better than me and that is why
I prayed for him to grow higher than me,” the former deputy governor said in
Pidgin English.
Shaibu was impeached as deputy governor of the state on
Monday, following the adoption of the report of a seven-member investigative
panel.
