The FCT chapter of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria (NYAON) has said with the huge monthly allocations the six area councils have been receiving from the federal government, the area councils have no excuses not to implement the N70,000 new minimum wage for both primary school teachers and staff of the six area councils.

Speaker of the Youth Assembly in the FCT, Comrade Umar Rabiu Munya, stated this in Abuja on Saturday, while reacting to the ongoing strike action by the primary school teachers and area councils’ staff over the non-implementation of their new wage by the six area councils’ chairmen.

He said it was unfortunate that, for the past three years, primary school teachers and the six area council chairmen have always been at loggerheads over their welfare.
