Man kills wife in Ekiti over alleged infidelity

A 34-year-old man, known as Dare Onipede, has allegedly stabbed his wife, Arinola, 32, to death following an accusation of infidelity in Ekiti State.

The Ekiti State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu, confirmed this yesterday, noting that they received the information on Saturday, April 27, through the couple’s children.

It was gathered that the tragic event happened over the weekend at Christ Avenue in the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State.

A resident in the vicinity, who preferred not to be named, said the couple had sent their older child on an errand and then locked themselves in their apartment, where they began to argue about the alleged infidelity.

Both the man, reported to be a law enforcement agent, and his deceased wife, who worked in a chemist shop, used sharp objects during the altercation, resulting in injuries to both parties, he said.
