Manchester City have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Arsenal after Kyle Walker was forced off during England’s game against Brazil.

Walker was substituted in the first half of the friendly at Wembley on Saturday after appearing to suffer a hamstring problem.

City face Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday with both clubs battling it out for the Premier League title along with Liverpool.

According to ESPN reports, Walker who was named England captain for the match against Brazil, was taken off in the 20th minute. He appeared to pick up an injury after sprinting back to clear Vinícius Júnior’s goal-bound effort off the line.

The Real Madrid forward’s shot had beaten Jordan Pickford before Walker was able to make up the ground to prevent Brazil from going ahead.

Walker, 33, needed treatment on his left leg shortly afterwards and tried to carry on after getting attention from England’s medical staff.

He played on for another eight minutes before eventually limping off and being replaced by Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa.

England are next in action against Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday before the Premier League resumes the following weekend.

Walker’s potential absence against Arsenal would be a blow for Manchester City. The right-back has been in good form for Pep Guardiola’s side, who are facing a crucial month with games against Arsenal, Aston Villa, Real Madrid and Chelsea to come before the end of April.
