Starting from Monday, February 10, Lagos residents will benefit from an expanded Red Line Rail Service, offering significantly enhanced commuting options.

The service now features five morning trips and four evening trips daily, a considerable increase from the previous two morning trips.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu explained that the expansion aims to provide better connectivity between Agbado and Oyingbo, making daily commutes easier for thousands of Lagosians.

The total journey time between Agbado and Oyingbo has been reduced to just 50 minutes, with only a two-minute waiting time at each station, ensuring a more efficient and reliable transportation experience.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the introduction of three new train sets will further increase the Red Line’s capacity, reinforcing its role in Lagos’ integrated transport system. This expansion is part of the ongoing efforts to improve mobility and enhance residents’ quality of life.

“The Red Line is more than just a train service—it’s a game-changer for commuting in Lagos. We are building a city where connectivity drives economic growth,” said Sanwo-Olu.

With these upgrades, the Red Line is poised to become a vital component of Lagos’ expanding transport infrastructure, demonstrating the government’s commitment to improving daily commuting for its residents.

“This is Lagos, and we keep moving,” the governor concluded.
