The Kwara State Football Association, KWSFA, on Saturday, released its 2025 President Federation Cup competition fixtures, with the tournament expected to kick off on Thursday February 13, 2025.
Seven men clubs and two women teams are participating the tournament this year which shows an improvement from what happened last year, especially in the male category.
The seven male clubs are the main and U19 teams of Kwara United Football Club, Kasam FA, Foresight FA, Unicorn FC, Ka’ah FA and Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club.
After the draw conducted at the Football House, both Kwara United FC and Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club were drawn bye into the semi-finals.
Kwara United U19 team will take on Kasam FA in the first match on February 13th, by 2.00pm, while Foresight FA will tackle Unicorn FA same day, by 4.00pm.
The winner of the match between Foresight FA and Unicorn FC will square up against Ka’ah on Saturday February 15, 2025, to fight for a semi-final place.
The two semi-final matches will hold on Tuesday February 18. The winner between Kwara United U19 and Kasam FA will play Kwara United FC in the first semi-final by 2.00pm, while Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club will play the winner of the matches involving Foresight FA, Unicorn FC and Ka’ah FA.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), all final matches in the States are to be played on either Saturday, 22nd February or Sunday, 23rd February 2025, except in special cases approved by the NFF.
The National Play-off of the competition has been scheduled for 5th March, with the National draw slated for a week later, while the Rounds of 64, 32 and 16 are scheduled for 19th March, 2nd April and 16th April 2025 respectively.
The quarter-finals have been slated for 3rd and 4th May, with the semi-finals fixed for 17th and 18th May.
The NFF further directed that any Club that fails to honour any match at the State level after the draw has been released, will pay a fine of N500,000. If any Club should fail to honour a match during the National competition, that Club will be slammed with a fine of N1million.
The two female teams that will play the female final are Kwara United Ladies FC and Moje Queens FC of Erin-Ile.
